Family Planning Center of Ocean County, Inc. Extends Free Pregnancy Testing Offer
Tay Walker, President/CEO of FPCOC, encourages area women to get a pregnancy test as soon as they suspect they are pregnant. Walker says, “It is important for pregnant women to get prenatal care as early as possible in a pregnancy, to make sure they are well-informed, and to follow a healthy life style. Seeking early prenatal care allows your health care provider to closely monitor your health and your baby’s progress. A healthy mother is essential to delivering a healthy baby.”
FPCOC, a premier reproductive health center, has served the women of Ocean County since 1971, offering low-cost medical, contraceptive, educational, and referral services. The hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Fridays, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and two Saturdays a month, 8:00 a.m. to noon.
MOBILE MAMMOGRAPHY COMES TO THE FAMILY PLANNING CENTER OF OCEAN COUNTY
The Family Planning Center of Ocean County, Inc. (FPCOC) and Atlanti Care RNA Mobile Digital Mammography
Program periodically team up through out the year to provide mammography screenings for
FPCOC patients and Ocean County residents. Most insurances plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, are
accepted; and funds are available to provide mammograms to uninsured women. AtlantiCare's Mobile Mammography Van will visit FPCOC on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, and on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Early detection and regularly scheduled mammograms save women's lives. “According to the American
Cancer Society, if all women age 40 and older took advantage of early detection methods - mammography
plus clinical breast exams - breast cancer death rates would drop significantly,” says Tay Walker, President/
CEO of FPCOC. “The key to mammography screening is that it be done routinely. Once is not enough.” Please
call (732)-364-9696 to schedule an appointment.
FPCOC is a low-cost reproductive health care center that has been serving the Ocean County Community with
