Medical Services

FPCOC is committed to ensuring access to quality reproductive health care services and to increasing positive health outcomes by improving the overall health status among women, men, adolescents and families in Ocean County, regardless of their financial status.
Women's health services include:
FPCOC offers gynecological examinations which include:
  • Pelvic Exam
  • Breast Exam
  • Pap Smear (conventional and liquid based)
  • Screenings for anemia, elevated blood sugar, urinary tract infections, abnormal blood pressure, and sexually transmitted infections
Birth Control:
FPCOC offers FDA-approved methods of contraception. These include:
  • Oral Contraceptives (Birth control pills)
  • Depo Provera (“The Shot”)
  • Ortho-Evra (“The Patch”)
  • Nuvaring
  • Intrauterine Devices (IUDs)
  • Diaphragms
  • Condoms
Natural family planning information/education is available.
Emergency Contraception:
If you did not use contraception or your method failed, we offer emergency contraception. Emergency contraception is 75% effective in preventing a pregnancy if used within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. Call for an appointment.
Testing and Treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections:
We provide testing and treatment for the following sexually transmitted infections (STI):
  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Herpes
  • HPV (Genital Warts)
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Syphilis (Treatment available at the Ocean County Health Dept.-STI Clinic)
We also treat yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis.
Confidential HIV Testing:
Routine confidential HIV testing is available to women, men and adolescents. Call us to schedule an appointment.
Pregnancy Testing:
FPCOC offers preconceptual information which contributes to a healthy pregnancy outcome. We offer pregnancy testing, pregnancy option information and referral services. Early pregnancy diagnosis and confirmation examinations are encouraged to support good health.
Colposcopy and Cryotherapy:
Many questions arise when a woman receives an abnormal pap test result. Our team of health care professionals are available to answer your questions. A colposcopy may be recommended for further evaluation. This diagnostic procedure is available at our Lakewood office.
The results of the colposcopy may indicate the need for cryotherapy, a treatment option also available at our Lakewood office.
Non-Reproductive Health Care:
When pregnancy is no longer a concern, your health still matters to us. Women age 50 and younger can be seen for an annual gynecological exam. FPCOC can not provide gynecological services for menopausal women or women whom have had a hysterectomy. However, health care options are available to you. Call us for a referral resource.
Women who do not have health insurance, who are income eligible and are between the ages of 50 and 64 can call the Ocean County Cancer Education and Early Detection program at 732-341-1400 to schedule an appointment for a free breast and cervical screening as well as a mammography. FPCOC participates in this program and your appointment will be scheduled at our Lakewood or Manahawkin location. Your mammography will be scheduled at a participating area hospital. Please remember that this is a screening program only.
Male Services:
FPCOC takes a keen interest in promoting healthy lifestyles for men. We can provide information on male reproductive health including contraception and sexually transmitted disease prevention. Should you have a question, feel free to contact our dedicated team of health care professionals who are available to answer your questions. We provide sexually transmitted disease testing (including Chlamydia and Gonorrhea) and treatment, treatment to the partners of our patients and HIV testing. Call us to schedule an appointment.
Adolescent Services:
FPCOC is committed to providing education and health care services to adolescents in a confidential, caring manner. No question goes unanswered. Our dedicated team of health care and education professionals are available to address your concerns. We can provide you with information on teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, substance abuse, injury protection, sexual abuse, domestic violence, coercion and depression. Family involvement is encouraged but not required.
